SANTA CLARA, 8/1/10: This week BAD ASS played its annual old versus young game. Kuzmiak, the league's senior citizen, was the captain of the Old Fucks on Viagra. Matsui, the league's baby, captained Flintstone Chewables.

Matsui led off the game and roped a liner to left center that Yow ran down and caught. This ended up being his only out on the day. The next time he came to bat later in the inning, he smashed a 3-run homer. In the 2nd, he once again homered after Yow leaped over the fence and got glove on the ball but could not secure. He launched a solo shot next that fell just sort of the playground. He added another homer two at-bats later to give him four home runs in his first six at bats and a shot at the single game record. He had six more hits in the game but never came close to putting any over the fence.

Matsui's offensive onslaught helped Flintstone Chewables cruise to an easy 24-9 win. There was some confusion after the 6th when the Old Fucks thought the game was over. The youngsters wanted to play a 7th, but the seniors had had enough.

NOTES AND HIGHLIGHTS:

-After the Old Fucks went down quietly in the first, Manning took his shirt off to work on his tan. As his team was about to take the field, he talked the rest of this team to follow suit.

"Stand behind the pitcher so the batters can't see the ball." -- Manning to Yow, after Yow asked Manning if there was a glare reflecting off his white, shirtless body in the outfield.

-Wagner returned to BAD ASS after a long absence and hit his first home run on the season.

"You're in the Derby!" --Smith to Wagner, even though the Derby was two weeks ago.

-Smith improved to 10-1 on the season.

-This week BAD ASS played its sixteenth game of the season. There have been zero double-headers played this season. With only five Sundays left this summer, the season will fall halfway short of a normal season in games played.
