Miller Field is one of a conglomerate of baseball fields near the SJ/Cupertino border. It has 90 ft. basepaths, but the fence--a removable iron fence--is less than 300 feet away down the lines, and easily reachable by BAD ASS bombers. The first game played here the entire fence was up, but by the second game most of it had been removed, so BAB used a stretch of its own fence. Behind the 3B dugout lies a fence with a distance marker on it, a giveaway that left field was once where the diamond is now (and very dangerous for home run hitters; houses are very close from this point). It's a good 10 yards+ from the street to the field; that coupled with the field distance from the dugout make it tough--though not impossible--to reach the street with a pop foul.
Behind the left field fence lies a shack (in foul ground), a ton of open area, and a track. Homers to straightaway left field land in the open area and roll for eons.
Another distinctive feature is the long distance from the plate to the backstop. Fortunately a trap is stationed at the field, helping keep BAB pitches from rolling 10 yards away. Much of the league was very excited about the prospects of playing here full-time in '07, until like so many other fields it was taken over by a soccer league with a permit. BAB remains hopeful it can be used as a backup here and there, at least.
